Students' SupportLibraryTaki College is facilitated with a well-stocked central library with a collection of more than 80,000 volumes of text, reference and rare books of various disciplines. Library has a facility of reading room also. In addition, there is a seminar library in each department for the benefits of students as well as teachers. HostelThe college runs two hostels; one for boys and another for girls' students, both are very close to college campus. There is also a 'Kendriya Chhatrabas' at Taki for non-creamy students of the locality (SC/ST and minority students) under the sponsorship of Central Government. NSSThe College owns an active unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) under West Bengal State University (WBSU). Safiqul Islam, is now incharge of NSS unit. NCCThere is a strong unit of National Cadet Corps (NCC) under 48 Bengal Bn., NCC, Barrackpore engaged in grooming the youth Prof. Md. Surabuddin Gazi, Part-time teacher in History is now in-charge of the college NCC unit. UGC Sponsered SchemesFree remedial coaching classes for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students are arranged in each department. Free coaching is also provided for different competitive examinations including NET/SLET Exam. The college runs also a very active unit of Equal Opportunity Programme. NSOU Study CentreNetaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) study centre is attached with the college imparting distance education. It offers UG/PG Courses in different disciplines. Dr. Tapas Chandra Saha, Associate Professor in Zoology is now course coordinator of NSOU Study centre. AuditoriumThe College is endowed with a well equipped modern seminar hall where lectures and academic symposium are held regularly. Computer Learning CentreThe college runs a computer study centre imparting different short term software and hardware courses at the subsidized rate. It is a joint venture of WEBEL and Taki Govt. College. CanteenA canteen for the students is provided. Students may have their Tiffin or lunch at the canteen. |
